Emeril gets the biggest BAM....

I am very disappointed by this news......I will miss his show...I have learned a lot from Mr. Bam....

NEW YORK — Food Network is kicking Emeril Lagasse down a notch.

The celebrity chef's "Emeril Live," which has been on the air for 10 years, will cease production Dec. 11, Food Network publicist Carrie Welch told The Associated Press.

"However, Emeril is under contract with Food Network," Welch said Tuesday. "We love him, we support him and look forward to a long partnership with him."

Welch wouldn't comment on Lagasse's contract.

Asked why the show was canceled, she told the AP: "The only reason would be that it hit a ton of television milestones and, you know, all good things come to an end."

The Food Network will continue producing Lagasse's "The Essence of Emeril," and he will take part in "specials and other development opportunities in the future," Welch said.

The network will also air reruns of "Emeril Live."

"I am deeply appreciative to all the unbelievable staff — many who have been with the show since the beginning — and all the loyal viewers, and the many talented guests who have appeared on the show through the years," Lagasse, 48, said in a statement provided by Welch.

"I look forward to continuing my association with the Food Network with `The Essence of Emeril,' and I have lots of new ideas cooking," he said.

HELL IS FROZEN OVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those of you who know my life well will know of what I speak....I said certain things would not happen until hell froze over....well....IT HAS....pray for a good outcome.

The passing of two good women.....

Last Friday morning Eric lost his paternal grandmother, Thelma. She was in her 80's and had lived a very happy and full life. Eric told me he has fond memories of one on one time they spent at her home . And he is consoled by the fact that she was able to stay in her own home and not have to go into a nursing home. My memories of Thelma are of a soft spoken women who was a wonderful cook, created beautiful handiwork, and was much loved by her family. Here is a photo of Thelma with Ethan and Evan in Oct. 2004.

A week ago today an old friend of mine, JoEllen H, passed away from brain cancer. When I think about all the troubles in my own family I only have to remember back to all that has happened to the H's to regain my perspective....
I worked with JoEllen at the Public Library for many years. She and her family also lived in our subdivision. JoEllen had a daughter who was only 16 when she contacted spinal meningitis and never recovered. As if that loss was not enough, JoEllen's husband passed a few years later of a sudden heart attack. JoEllen was left to raise two boys alone. About a year later she found out she had breast cancer.....she fought hard and after chemo and mastectomy she went into remission for a number of years....last year the cancer returned and with a vengeance. Her suffering is over now. Her two boys have only each other for now. The youngest is still in school, so all the memorials were to help with his future education fund. Thanksgiving takes on a whole new meaning this year.......

GOD BLESS THE PARENTS WHO DRUGGED US………

I recieved this in my email and thought it was worth posting here…..

GOD BLESS THE PARENTS WHO DRUGGED US………

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question.

‘Why didn’t we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?’

I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young:
I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.

I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn’t put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity.
I was drug out to pull weeds in mom’s garden and flowerbeds and cocklebur’s out of dad’s fields.

I was drug to the homes of family, friends and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.

Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think.
They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and if today’s children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

My Favorites

I am adding a playlist to this blog....these are tunes I enjoy ...hope you do too.
I know it needs some "tweaking".....I cannot change the HTML enough to show the entire playlist.....I will work on it, and consult my tech, aka Cheryl to see what needs to be done :) Between the two of us we know enough about HTML to be dangerous.
